There were hardly any clear, dark nights in late 2022 around Vienna, so I continued to follow the changes on the sun's photosphere. After a short "low tide" the sun showed a series of complex spot groups along a band around temperate latitudes on the northern hemisphere.
Observations were made from my balcony in Vienna with my 80/600 mm refractor extended to 1200 mm focal length. As an improvement to my optical setup, I changed my focal length converter to a different design with less obstruction and diffraction. Thats why the focal length is a bit shorter than in previous images, but the scale is adjustable. But the most important advantage is the fact that brightness inhomogeneities in the field may be corrected through flatfield images, if needed.
